These coils are similar to a square or rectangular helical coil and are made from a series of 90° bends resting on top of each other with repeating straight sections between the bends. They are often used to wrap around tanks or containers for heat exchange. These can be made from most kinds of bendable metal tubing but copper and stainless steel are the most frequently used materials.
