These coils are usually started in the center with one or two 180° bends and then get concentrically larger with a series of 90° bends so they finish as squares or rectangles although they can also be made circular. These are usually used when a serpentine does not cover enough surface and more contact area is needed. Softer types of tubing are generally used for this coil configuration.
