Sometimes called punch or press bending, this kind of bending is also an empty bend but is done by pushing the material into a die instead of drawing it around a die. It can produce either a rounded bend or a gusseted bend where one deliberately causes the material to collapse in the center of the bend. This type of bending is typically seen in high volume production for such items as frames or handles for outdoor furniture.
